Live at LeopoldsWe were invited to play one evening for a showcase featuring local bluegrass bands, but nobody else showed up; so Rootstand jammed all night long... Check out the jam at the end of track seven. John was playing so hard he sucked a metal reed out of his harmonica and into his mouth. After recovering and eventually finding a spare harmonica in the right key, John comes back in to share a smokin' jam with mandolinist David Mosher. Live at Leopolds is a great collection of older Rootstand music. |
Rootstand ( Brant Losinski: Solo Acoustic Set )This album is the first emergence of the name Rootstand as related to our musical project. The album Rootstand is a collection of some of Brant's favorite acoustic country blues and bluegrass tunes, and features both original and traditional work. The tunes on this album form much of the foundation of the Rootstand's more Brant-oriented jams and rhythms, and therefore fittingly shares its title with that of the current band. Check out the included review of this clean and charismatic country blues album. Rootstand was recorded when Brant lived near Seattle, WA. |
Folk Rings Rootstand Presents: The Entwash RecordingsThe album Folk Rings is unique in that--though it is the Rootstand's first studio recording--it includes some of the more mature arrangements we have done. Folk Rings was recorded not only for release as a Rootstand album, but for the completion of John's degree requirements for college. John gave a presentation on American folk music and we recorded this album to help exemplify some of his points. The Entwash was our name for the band at that time, indicating our great connection to J.R.R Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, years before the movie hype. The Entwash was a river in Tolkien's middle-earth, and after drinking from its magical waters, the hobbits grew taller and wiser. Folk Rings is really fun and a high quality look into Rootstand history! |
